Hon. Marc Garneau to attend National Governors Association Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C.

February 20, 2019 - The Honourable Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, will travel to Washington, D.C., as the Chair of the Canada-U.S. Relations Cabinet Committee. The visit will be an opportunity to engage with U.S. governors on the Canada-U.S. relationship. The Minister will take part in a series of events with American officials and will discuss the new NAFTA and lifting Section 232 steel and aluminium tariffs.

During his visit, Minister Garneau will also meet with Admiral Timothy Gallaudet, Acting Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), to discuss Canada’s Oceans Protection Plan, protection of whales, and the marine environment.
