Parliamentary Secretary Alghabra and EDC to announce job-creating investment for the city of Hawkesbury

June 19, 2019 - Omar Alghabra, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade Diversification, and Export Development Canada (EDC) will announce a multi-million dollar finance loan to create jobs in the expanding clean tech sector in Hawkesbury, Ontario.

The initiative is part of the Government of Canada's commitment to finance projects in the cleantech sector and to attract job-creating foreign direct investment. With this investment, Ecolomondo Corporation will build its first commercial plant that will treat end-of-life tires.

The Hawkesbury plant will be a first of its kind. It will have the capacity to decompose 1.4 million end-of-life tires per year, and will produce 28 million pounds per year of recycled resources for re-use by the industry.
