Minister Monsef to attend G7 ministers’ meeting on development in Paris

The Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister of International Development and Minister for Women and Gender Equality, is in Paris, France, to participate in the G7 Development and Joint Development and Education Ministers’ Meetings on July 4 and 5, 2019.
Minister Monsef’s engagements will focus on reducing inequality, particularly related to gender and the empowerment of women and girls, building on the Charlevoix Declaration on Quality Education for Girls, Adolescent Girls and Women in Developing Countries.
The Minister will also underscore key Canadian initiatives related to financing for development, preventing crises particularly in the Sahel region of Africa, and dismantling the barriers to quality education and skills development for women and girls.
