Itinerary – Minister Ng to attend meetings of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and WTO

June 8, 2022 - The Honourable Mary Ng, Minister of International Trade, Export Promotion, Small Business and Economic Development, will attend the 2022 Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Ministerial Council Meeting in Paris, France, from June 9 to 10, and then the 12th WTO Ministerial Conference in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 12 to 15.

In Paris, Minister Ng will participate in discussions regarding the collective response and multilateral cooperation in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as how trade can contribute to solving global environmental challenges and guarantee a more prosperous and sustainable future.

In Geneva, Minister Ng will advance discussions to secure a strong and sustainable global recovery and to strengthen inclusive international trade. Minister Ng will engage her counterparts on WTO reform, food security and agriculture, and fisheries subsidies, while continuing to promote Canada’s export diversification strategy and create more opportunities for Canadian businesses to export their innovative products and services.
