Announcement of new diplomatic appointments

October 14, 2022 - Ottawa, Ontario - Global Affairs Canada
The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced the following diplomatic appointments:
François Lafrenière becomes Ambassador to the Republic of Mali. Mr. Lafrenière replaces Michael Elliott.
David Sproule becomes Special Representative for Afghanistan.
Jeanette Stovel becomes Ambassador to the Republic of Finland. Ms. Stovel replaces Jason Tolland.
