Minister Anand met with India’s External Affairs Minister

Yesterday, the Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, India’s Minister of External Affairs, during her visit to India with Prime Minister Mark Carney.

During their sixth meeting since September 2025, Minister Anand and Minister Jaishankar discussed the progress made on the joint road map for Canada-India relations that was announced in October 2025. Minister Anand emphasized Canada’s commitment to implementing the road map priorities, including deepening trade, energy, and people-to-people ties, and welcomed recent progress in the ongoing dialogue on security and law enforcement. 

Minister Anand thanked Minister Jaishankar for his warm hospitality, noting that Canada and India’s renewed strategic partnership holds promise to advance shared security and prosperity in the relationship between the two countries that dates back more than 75 years.
