Biographical note – Diplomatic appointment

Ryan Ward (BA [Business Administration], Royal Military College of Canada) joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 2006. At Headquarters, he has served in the Strategic Initiatives, South Asia Commercial Relations, Trans-Pacific Partnership and Export Support divisions. Overseas, he has served in Indonesia, Libya, Kenya and Nigeria. In 2018, Mr. Ward was awarded the Operational Service Medal—Expedition for service alongside Operation LOBE in Libya from 2013 to 2014. Most recently, he was counsellor (commercial) and senior trade commissioner at the High Commission in India.
