Mental Illness Awareness Week 2023
Transcript
Minister Saks:
This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week, an opportunity to open up about our mental health and break down the barriers that contribute to the stigma surrounding mental illness.
Speaking out loud about our struggles and challenges can go a long way in helping reduce mental health stigma.
This week, and every week, let's take the time to reach out to offer or ask for support.
No one should have to suffer in silence.
We've come a long way in how we talk about our mental health but there is still more work to be done.
Mental health is health and we owe it to everyone in Canada to ensure that every single person has the mental health care they need; when they need it, where they need it.
