Transcript - Physical activity to prevent chronic disease

Being physically active can reduce your risk for chronic disease and contribute to overall wellbeing.

Adults need at least 150 minutes of moderate-to-intense physical activity every week, and kids aged 5-17 years old need at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.

If you're not exercising regularly, you're at an increased risk of heart disease and other chronic diseses.

Take a step in the right direction by adding physical activity to your daily lifestyle. Start slowly, and build up.

It can include everyday things like walking the dog, playing tag, building a snowman, tobogganing, and even household chores.
