Backgrounder: Eleven Infrastructure Projects in Saskatchewan Get Joint Government Funding
Backgrounder
The governments of Canada and Saskatchewan are announcing funding for 11 infrastructure projects in communities across the province under the New Building Canada Plan's Small Communities Fund, including two drinking water projects and nine wastewater projects. The Government of Canada will provide up to $5,399,443 of the total eligible cost of $16,198,338 for these 11 projects. The Government of Saskatchewan will also contribute $5,399,443.
This is in addition to 26 projects already approved under the Small Communities Fund in Saskatchewan.
The Small Communities Fund provides support for priority public infrastructure projects that deliver on local needs in communities across Canada that have fewer than 100,000 residents. So far, 82 percent of the projects approved under this Fund are in communities with a population of less than 25,000.
