Ground breaking ceremony for the start of construction on new police station in Mascouche

Federal-provincial investment of more than 2.6 million dollars

Mascouche, Quebec – April 5, 2016 – Pablo Rodriguez, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, on behalf of the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities, as well as the Deputy Premier and Minister responsible for  the Lanaudière region, Lise Theriault, and the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Land Occupancy Martin Coiteux, marked the start of construction on the community's new police station.

This project involves demolishing the building located at 824 Brien Street and constructing a new police station at the same location just off Highway 25. This future multipurpose building marks an important step towards creating an even safer environment for Mascouche residents. Its modern facilities will enable better coordination of security operations in the area and allow the community to respond to emergencies more quickly.

This project is benefiting from federal and provincial financial support amounting to $2,637,154 through the federal Gas Tax Fund and the Government of Quebec's contribution:  

  • Federal contribution: $1,867,105;
  • Provincial contribution: $770,049.
