Contrecoeur Port Terminal Expansion Project — Public Comments Invited and Information Sessions

January 18, 2018 — Ottawa — Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) is conducting a federal environmental assessment of the proposed Contrecoeur Port Terminal Expansion Project, located in Contrecoeur, approximately 40 kilometres north-east of Montreal, Quebec.

The Agency invites the public and Indigenous groups to comment on the potential environmental effects of the project and the proposed measures to prevent or mitigate those effects as described in the proponent's summary of the Environmental Impact Statement.

Information sessions will be held during the consultation period.

All comments received will be considered public. Written comments in either official language must be submitted by March 9, 2018 to:

As a next step, the Agency will prepare the draft Environmental Assessment Report and the potential environmental assessment conditions for the project. The public will be invited to comment on these documents during a final public comment period on this project.
