James Bay Lithium Mine Project — Public Comments Invited

March 7, 2019 — Ottawa — Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) is conducting a federal environmental assessment for the proposed James Bay Lithium Mine Project, located 100 kilometres east of James Bay and the Eastmain Cree Village in Quebec.

The Agency invites the public and Indigenous peoples to comment on the potential environmental effects of the project and the proposed measures to prevent or mitigate those effects as described in the proponent's summary of the Environmental Impact Statement.

All comments received will be considered public. Written comments in either official language must be submitted by April 6, 2019 to:

As a next step, the Agency will prepare the draft Environmental Assessment Report and the potential environmental assessment conditions for the project. The public and Indigenous peoples will be invited to comment on these documents during a final public comment period on this project.
