Canada to host sixth Americas Competitiveness Exchange

Statement

Ottawa, May 24, 2016—The Honourable Naveep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, today made the following statement regarding Canada's commitment to host an Americas Competitiveness Exchange (ACE) from September 25 to October 1, 2016:

"It is an honour for Canada to host the sixth ACE this fall. The ACE is a premier opportunity for sharing Canadian best practices and establishing new networks and partnerships with high-level policy and economic decision makers throughout the hemisphere and around the world. These relationships will help deepen business, trade and investment opportunities for Canadians and will showcase Canada as a business destination.

"The six-day, cross-government event will focus on key Canadian economic sectors such as advanced manufacturing, information and communications technology, clean tech, life sciences and financial services. The tour will include various sites in Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton and the Niagara Region.

"Hosting the ACE supports the Government's commitment to promote Canadian innovation throughout the economy and to encourage new investments, exports and inclusive growth. We look forward to working with our municipal, provincial and international partners on this important initiative."
