Minister Freeland to announce funding for researchers to pursue science without boundaries

September 7, 2017—Toronto, Ontario—The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the Honourable Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, will announce major funding for fundamental research in the natural sciences and engineering.

The funds include grants to established and early-career researchers as well as scholarships to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows across Canada. The investment will provide researchers with the foundation they need to push the boundaries of discovery and innovation while strengthening a culture of curiosity and diversity in Canadian science.

Media are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early to sign in at the reception desk.
