Media advisory
Cookshire-Eaton, Quebec, January 14, 2019—The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Tourism, Official Languages and La Francophonie, will participate in a roundtable discussion hosted by the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of International Development. This will be an opportunity for Minister Joly to hear about the region’s tourism opportunities.
These discussions are a continuation of the Minister’s cross-country listening tour that began in November 2018. This tour is an opportunity for the Minister to engage with people working in Canada’s travel and tourism industry and gather their valuable ideas and experiences that will help in developing a new federal tourism strategy. Expanding tourism opportunities in all regions of Canada, including Cookshire-Eaton, will help attract new visitors while creating good jobs for middle-class families.
The Minister will be available to answer questions from the media following the roundtable.
