Stakeholders' Forum
The Stakeholders' Forum brings together national professional associations from the world of archives, libraries, and museums to discuss strategic issues for the GLAM sector. It facilitates the exchange of ideas and information among members and with LAC, while also serving as a creative space to test ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration.

Latest news
- The Association des archivistes du Québec announce a new version of their professional certification program.
- The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) has published its 2024-2025 Annual Report: Charting the Path to Open Knowledge in Canada.
- The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) announces the winners of the 2025 Research in Librarianship Grant fund awarded to new and established librarians, in order to support research in the field of academic librarianship by and/or about Canadians.
- The Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) and the Canadian Federation of Library Associations (CFLA) announce the release of Accessible Content: A Guide to the Canadian Copyright Act on Searching for Accessible Formats and Producing and Distributing Alternate Formats.
- The next Canadian Historical Association Annual Meeting will be June 1-3, 2026, in Charlottetown, PEI. The event will be hosted by the University of Prince Edward Island.
- The Canadian Urban Libraries Council has created an annual prize for students currently enrolled in an accredited Master of Library Science, or Master of Library & Information Science program.

The Forum is held twice a year, with one session conducted in-person and the other online.
Spring 2025
- In June, members gathered at Library and Archives Canada (LAC) in Ottawa, Ontario to discuss ongoing issues and trends in the GLAM sector. The Association of Parliamentary Libraries in Canada was welcomed as a new member organization.

Fall 2024
- At December’s virtual meeting, the Stakeholders’ Forum welcomed a new member organization: The Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN).

Spring 2024
- In June, the Stakeholders’ Forum members met virtually to share updates and discuss the future of the Forum. Members launched a pilot Community of Interest on awareness and mobilization, co-led by the Secretariat and 2 members: Andrea Cecchetto (CFLA) and Angela Fornelli (ACA).
