Library and Archives Canada and LAC Foundation Announce 2020 LAC Scholar Awards Recipients

Tuesday, March 10, 2020 – Ottawa, Ontario – Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and the LAC Foundation are excited to announce the distinguished 2020 recipients of the second annual LAC Scholar Awards.
The Library and Archives Canada Scholar Awards, co-presented by the LAC Foundation and LAC, with the generous support of the Awards’ Founding Sponsor Air Canada, recognize the outstanding contribution of Canadians who have dedicated their lives to the creation and promotion of our country’s cultural, literary and historical heritage.
The recipients of the 2020 LAC Scholar Awards are:
- Margaret Atwood, poet, novelist, literary critic and essayist
- Roch Carrier, novelist and author
- Charlotte Gray, historian, author and biographer
- Serge Joyal, former senator, art collector and philanthropist
- Terry O’Reilly, broadcast producer and radio personality
The awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at LAC’s 395 Wellington Street location in downtown Ottawa.
