Library and Archives Canada’s collection of Public opinion research includes finished reports that were contracted by the Federal government and submitted to LAC.
What’s not in the collection:
- internal research reports
- syndicated studies or surveys
- projects or reports from organizations that are not considered Government of Canada departments, unless they chose otherwise.

Search tips
There are multiple ways to search for a POR report.
Use the quick search buttons at the top of the search page to find recent reports from the last 30 days or last 6 months
For more specific search results, use search fields such as:
- the name of the contracting department
- keywords appearing in the title of the report
- the year in which the report was published
- the registration number ("POR" number) assigned to the report by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC)
- the name of the contractor
POR reports before August 14, 2014, may be in only one official language. To request a report in the other official language, contact the communications unit of the contracting department (search the GCdirectory).

Access the reports
Digital reports after 2006 are available online.
You can access print versions of POR reports from before 2006 by visiting our Ottawa location. Order reports before you visit using Aurora or order copies to be sent to you at home.
