Submit a report
Before submitting your public opinion research report, please review these guidelines to ensure your submission is complete and meets all requirements.

Who can submit
We accept public opinion research (POR) reports from any federal organization, including non-contracted POR reports. If you would like to submit your POR project but do not have a POR number, please contact us for instructions.
What to submit
Documents should be submitted within six months of completing data collection. Please create a single ZIP file containing all documents required for submission.
Required documents
Final report
Include a narrative executive summary, full description of methodology, and all appendices in the same file.

Optional: You may also submit final reports in HTML, EPUB, and/or DOCX formats, in both English and French.
Tabular data (where relevant)
- English comma separated value (CSV) file
- French comma separated value (CSV) file
Optional: You can also submit tabular data in XLSX format, in both English and French.
What not to submit
- Drafts, partial or incomplete reports
- Proprietary digital file formats
- Print copies
- Separate executive summaries
Before you submit a report
Verify the accuracy of information
Carefully review the cover page and copyright section of the final reports in both English and French. Confirm that all information—especially identification numbers—is correct. Any errors may delay publication of the report.
If you are submitting HTML files, open and review them to ensure there are no broken links or missing images.
Create an account
First-time users of the submission form must create an account.
- On the login screen, select Create account.
- Enter your email address and the characters shown in the image, then click Next. You must use a Government of Canada email to access the POR forms. Submission confirmations and receipts will be sent to this address.
- You will get an email with two options to verify your email address.
- On the Complete registration screen, create a password and enter your name, organization and phone number.
- You will then be returned to the login screen.
Submit a report
- On the login screen, enter your email address (as your username) and password.
- Once logged in, select the Public opinion research (POR) reports form.
After you submit a report
- You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your submission.
- We will review your submission and contact you if we have any questions.
- If your submission is complete, you will receive an email within five business days with links to your reports on our website (contact us if you cannot find your reports).
- We will forward the links to your published reports to the Library of Parliament, the Public Opinion Research Directorate, and Publishing and Depository Services.
