School break on the Plains of Abraham!

During the school break, the Plains of Abraham offer a wealth of activities at little or no cost from March 2 to 17. In addition to free access to the skating rink and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, a guided tour of the Battles exhibition designed specifically for the school break will be offered to youths aged 17 and under… free of charge.

  • During the school break, access to the Plains of Abraham Museum is free for youths aged 17 and under, from March 2 to 17:

    Guided tour of the Battles Exhibition|1759-1760 Accompanied by a sergeant of the militia, help load a cannon and complete a questionnaire on historical objects. Attend an immersive film projection featuring witness accounts from the era. Admire a collection of uniforms and explore the interactive section to learn why maintaining law and order among the soldiers and civilian population was so important during this massive military campaign.

    Identities Exhibition | Artefacts that tell tales and reveal identities View artefacts from the park’s archeological collection. The physical traces people left behind originate from archaeological digs at Des Braves Park, the advanced blockhouse of the temporary citadel, the Martello 2 Tower and Cove Fields.

  • Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and skating

    Treat yourself to nature in the heart of Québec. Ski, snowshoe, walk and skate in an accessible and beautiful natural décor – close to 12 km of groomed trails for classic and skate skiing for beginner and intermediate cross-country skiers, and a 3.8 km trail for snowshoeing. On the sports field, the skating rink is open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. An equipment rental service is available in a comfortable chalet. The rink and the trails are occasionally closed, depending on activities taking place and for ice maintenance. Free access.

    A map of the trails is offered online and at various service points in the park. A waxing room (sports field) and three heated rest areas are available for skiers and pedestrians (Plains of Abraham Museum, the pavilion near the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand and the skaters’ chalet).
