Opening of the cross-country ski trails on the Plains of Abraham

Media advisory

The cross-country ski trails on the Plains of Abraham opened this morning, with the exception of trail 55. Beginner, intermediate and expert skiers can enjoy for free 14 km of classic and ski skating trails, in the heart of the city!

Located at the Montcalm entrance to the Battlefields Park, the waxing room is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. Additionally, skiers, snowshoers and walkers have access to three heated rest areas at the Plains of Abraham Museum, the Pavilion (near the Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand) and the skaters’ chalet (skating rink).

A collaboration between the Ville de Québec and the National Battlefields Commission, the Plains of Abraham Skating Rink also allows visitors to enjoy the great outdoors. The refrigerated skating rink is located at the playing fields west of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. On site, equipment rental ($) is offered at the skaters’ chalet.
