November 17, 2015 – Moncton – National Film Board of Canada
The Canadian Francophonie Studio – Acadie of the National Film Board of Canada (NFB) now has a new address in Moncton. Located on the 1st floor of 1045 Main Street, in a district that is experiencing major revitalization, the new office contains common work areas as well as an editing room.
The Studio’s team, led by producer Jac Gautreau, inaugurated the new facilities on November 14 in the presence of Claude Joli-Coeur, Government Film Commissioner and Chairperson of the NFB, and Dominic Desjardins, Executive Producer at the Canadian Francophonie Studio. Several guests from the film and cultural communities also attended. The inauguration coincided with the Festival international du cinéma francophone en Acadie (FICFA), taking place from November 12 to 20 in the Moncton area.
“The Canadian Francophonie Studio – Acadie has given the NFB a presence in the community for more than 40 years. The current team continues to enjoy exceptional collaborations with Acadian creators, producers and artisans, helping to tell the region’s stories in all their diversity and contributing to a rich and thriving culture,” said Mr. Joli-Coeur.
This studio is one of 11 NFB centres or studios, located in eight cities across Canada.
