News release

October 19, 2020 – Montreal – National Film Board of Canada (NFB)

Denis McCready, Executive Producer of the NFB’s Canadian Francophonie Studio, announced today the appointment of Christine Aubé to the position of Producer at the Studio’s Moncton centre, a role she’s held on an interim basis since January 2018.

Christine Aubé boasts close to 20 years of experience in film and television production. In the course of her career, she has held various positions with broadcasters and independent producers. She started out at the NFB as an administrative assistant in 2006, and then came back in 2009 as a production manager for a number of projects at the Canadian Francophonie Studio – Acadie. She then held management positions at Radio-Canada Acadie and Vancouver, before becoming the Manager of Original Production at Unis TV in the Atlantic Provinces.

Since her return to the NFB in 2018, Christine has produced a number of documentaries, including Standing on the Line by Paul Émile d’Entremont, Lucien’s Happiness by Nathalie Hébert, and the more recent titles Plus haut que les flammes (Higher than the Flames) by Monique LeBlanc and Le Silence (The Silence) by Renée Blanchar.

The Canadian Francophonie Studio is dedicated to French-language production in minority communities. It comprises two production centres that are well established in their communities: one in Toronto (since 1975) for Central and Western Canada, and the other in Moncton (since 1974) for Acadie. These centres allow the NFB to maintain a vital presence across Canada and to promote the plurality of Franco-Canadian voices and perspectives. With more than a dozen projects under way, the Moncton centre is very active in the Atlantic Provinces.
