The Canadian Coast Guard is notifying residents and those using the shores of Lake St. Louis that it intends to begin spring icebreaking operations at the entrance of the St. Lawrence Seaway, on the north and south shores of the Lake and in Bay Des Cascades around March 2, 2015. The date is only an indication, as activities could begin before or after that period, depending on operational requirements or prevailing weather conditions.

This investment is part of a $30 million investment in maintenance, repair, construction and dredging projects at small craft harbours across the province.

These projects are valued at more than $1.2 million and involve maintenance, repair, construction and dredging in order to ensure that these harbours in the Maritimes continue to operate safely and securely.

Cowley.
