A new Duff Roblin Park Reserve will soon be established, thanks to $3.2 million in funding, which includes a $2.1 million contribution from the Government of Canada and the Province of Manitoba through the Canada-Manitoba Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund (MRIF). The balance will be provided by the Province of Manitoba.

A new residential development will be built on the site of a former hydro steam plant, fronting Waterfront Drive, thanks to a $1.1 million investment under the Winnipeg Partnership Agreement (WPA). This parcel of land, environmentally impacted as a result of hydrocarbons, a by-product of burning coal, will be excavated and cleaned to prepare for redevelopment. The land will be excavated with the removal of 42,000 metric tonnes of environmentally impacted soil and cleaned up to prepare for a planned residential development.

The Canadian International Grain Institute (CIGI) will establish an advanced pilot cereal testing, training and demonstration centre with over $499,000 in funding through the Canada-Manitoba Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives is also providing $103,700 towards the project through the Food Development Centre.

Pedestrians and cyclists will soon have access to a new foot bridge crossing over the Burlington Northern Sante Fe (BNSF) rail line near the Delta South Surrey Greenway.
