Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today announced that he will attend the inauguration of Dilma Rousseff as president of Brazil on January 1, 2015. Ms. Rousseff will be commencing her second term as president.
OTTAWA - In support of the Government of Canada's response to fight the Ebola epidemic in West Africa, and following an acclimatization period, 37 Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) health care and support staff commenced operations today in Kerry Town, Sierra Leone.
Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird today released the following statement:
"Canada fundamentally believes that Palestinian statehood can only be a by-product of negotiations with the State of Israel. We have long rejected unilateral action on either side, as we believe it is ultimately unhelpful to the cause of peace."
