Our Government believes Canadian families should be able to choose the combination of television channels they want. In the Speech from the Throne, as a key commitment to protecting Canadian consumers, our Government said we would require TV channels to be unbundled, while protecting Canadian jobs.
Our three countries are closely connected through common geography, strong links between our peoples, and comprehensive trade relations. As such, we share many mutual defense interests.

I am thrilled to once again host an exciting Movie Night as we screen the very moving film Aloft. This will be the first time our successful Movie Night brings us to the city of Winnipeg, and I'm proud to host this film in my hometown.
Canada continues to impress as three more Canadian films have been selected to compete at the Cannes Film Festival in May. It will be a tremendous year for Canadian filmmakers at Cannes as the international film community continues to celebrate and recognize Canadian artists.
