The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume various snack foods described below because these products may be contaminated with Salmonella. These snack foods contain peanut butter and / or peanut paste which have been recently recalled in the USA by Peanut Corporation of America due to Salmonella contamination.

The Bank of Canada today announced that it is lowering its target for the overnight rate by one-half of a percentage point to 1 per cent. The operating band for the overnight rate is correspondingly lowered, and the Bank Rate is now 1 1/4 per cent.
