The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of State for Canada Economic Development, today announced that the Réseau collectif de communications électroniques et d'outils de gestion Gaspésie-Îles-Madeleine has been awarded $1,746,084 in non-repayable funding to extend high-speed Internet access to 43 peninsula communities that, until now, have not benefited from these services. This initiative will generate more than $3 million in investment.

VANCOUVER - Ferry users across British Columbia will benefit from an investment by the Government of Canada to enhance security. Mr. Andrew Saxton, M.P. for North Vancouver and Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board, on behalf of Canada's Transport Minister, John Baird, today announced that the Government of Canada will invest up to $5.6 million in 15 projects by domestic ferries operators across British Columbia.
