The Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced the awarding of $608,210 in non-repayable funding to ÉCOF, the Corporation de développement économique communautaire de Trois-Rivières (ÉCOF-CDEC), to enable the organization to pursue its local development activities.

Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced the awarding of $23,000 in non-repayable funding to Ébénisterie André Milaire Inc. of Ferme-Neuve.
The Honourable Tony Clement, Federal Minister of Health, and the Honourable George Smitherman, Health Minister of Ontario, today announced that Ontario will establish a Patient Wait Times Guarantee for cataract surgery by January 1, 2009, to be supported by $205 million in federal funding. Ontario will also be eligible to benefit from the $400 million in new funding for Canada Health Infoway, and the $30 million for pilot projects as announced in Budget 2007.
OTTAWA -- The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced a one-year grace period for fish harvesters and sealers to complete mandatory training in the principles of basic safety at sea.
Today, the Honourable Loyola Hearn, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, announced a $5,000 contribution to the Crow's Nest Officers' Club and the Naval Officers' Association of Canada. The funds, provided through Veterans Affairs Canada's Partnership Contribution Program, were used to support "The Corvette's Wake," an event held in St. John's in February to commemorate the Battle of the Atlantic.

Honourable Jean-Pierre Blackburn, Minister of Labour and Minister of Canada Economic Development, today announced that the Concours hippiques de Blainville has been awarded $83,520 in non-repayable funding to promote the Classique internationale de Blainville equestrian competition at four major events in the United States and France.
Health Canada wishes to inform Canadians that the Canadian labelling for Tamiflu has recently been updated to include new safety information resulting from adverse reaction reports of abnormal or suicidal behaviour in Japanese children or teenagers taking Tamiflu. As of February 28, 2007, there have been no Canadian reports of deaths or psychiatric adverse events such as abnormal or suicidal behaviour in children or teenagers.
