Ottawa - Canada's New Government has partnered with engineers who are studying roads, buildings and water systems in every part of the country to determine how climate change is affecting our infrastructure. Funding of $998,400 to support this project was announced last night by Jacques Gourde, Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, on the Minister's behalf.
VANCOUVER - On Friday, March 23, 2007, the Honourable Gary Lunn, Minister of Natural Resources, will be in Vancouver to make funding announcements related to the mountain pine beetle and the Britannia Mine Project. He will speak to forest researchers at the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia, and then make an announcement to the B.C. mining industry and deliver a speech to the Vancouver Board of Trade.

The Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women, today announced $600,000 in funding for the Society for Educational Visits and Exchanges in Canada (SEVEC) through the Exchanges Canada initiative. This funding is in addition to an agreement reached with SEVEC in June 2006 for $13.5 million in funding over three years to ensure nearly 17,000 young Canadians are able to participate in a reciprocal exchange by 2009.
