In just three weeks, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) will launch the National Do Not Call List (DNCL). Starting on September 30, 2008, Canadian consumers will be able to register their telephone numbers on the National DNCL for free to reduce the number of telemarketing calls and faxes they receive.

The Government of Canada announced today that Canada is providing additional support to assist the people of Haiti affected by the recent hurricanes and tropical storms. These storms have had a severe impact on the lives and livelihoods of up to 800,000 people in Haiti.
