The Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, today announced funding for Albion Neighbourhood Services to provide settlement services to newcomers.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) today announced the prescribed annual interest rates that will apply to any amounts owed to the CRA and to any amounts the CRA owes to individuals and corporations. These rates are calculated quarterly in accordance with applicable legislation and will be in effect from October 1, 2008 to December 31, 2008.

Health Canada is advising consumers not to use any unauthorized health products sold under the brand names Life Choice, Healthy Choice, Doctor's Choice and Your Choice as well as the products without a brand name included in the table below. All of these unauthorized health products have the same identifying image on their label (below). Health Canada issued a Public Warning on two other Life Choice products, Ephedrine 30mg and Kava Kava, on August 21, 2008.

Parliamentary Secretary Rod Bruinooge on behalf of the Honourable Chuck Strahl, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians, today announced $50,000 in funding for Aboriginal House, a facility providing support and services to Aboriginal students enrolled in undergraduate studies at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg.
The construction of the new Cercle Molière Theatre, which will be an outstanding gathering place for Francophones and those who want to share the French language and culture from Winnipeg and throughout Manitoba, will be made possible thanks to an investment by the Government of Canada.
