Funding for new interior upgrades, announced today, will enable the Town of Lunenburg to quickly act on an opportunity to repurpose the Academy, an 18,000 square foot heritage building, into a revenue-generating multi-purpose facility.
OTTAWA - As part of Winterlude's 37th edition in the nation's capital, Natural Resources Canada will host the 5th annual Cool Science event. During this special science fair, youth will experience the exciting world of science through the work and discoveries of various government organizations, partners and various labs. With the help and guidance of scientists and researchers, visitors will have the chance to explore the replica of an Arctic base camp, bring rocks and fossils from home for identification and learn about the importance of minerals. Today, Justice Minister Peter MacKay, along with Member of Parliament for Yukon Ryan Leef, announced $536,658 in funding to the McMan Youth, Family and Community Services Association in Calgary to fund a new FASD Housing Coordinator. The Housing Coordinator will find community-based housing for youth who are involved in the youth criminal justice system and who may be affected by Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
