Transport Canada Suspends Air Operator Certificate for Keystone Air Service Ltd.

WINNIPEG — Transport Canada today announced the suspension of Keystone Air Service Ltd.'s Air Operator Certificate, effective June 14, 2002, at 1800 hours CDT. The action follows the June 11, 2002 accident in Winnipeg involving a Piper PA-31-350 Navajo Chieftain operating as flight KEE 208, from Gunisao Lake, Manitoba, to Winnipeg International Airport.
The decision to suspend the Air Operator Certificate was based on information identified during the department's review of company documentation following the accident, as well as information gathered from the Minister's Observer who is participating in the Transportation Safety Board's investigation.
