Technical briefing on peace and security initiatives in africa

Monday, January 19, 2004FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEOttawa – Media representatives are invited to attend a technical briefing at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) regarding peace and security programs and initiatives in Africa. Particular attention will be given to Canada Fund for Africa activities. Media unable to attend the briefing may participate by conference call. The briefing will include presentations by Brian Pagan, Director, Policy and Strategic Planning, Africa and Middle East Branch, and Henri-Paul Normandin, Director, Canada Fund for Africa. Presentations will be followed by a question and answer period. The briefing will also highlight the official opening of the Kofi Annan International Peace Training Centre in Ghana, on January 24.
