This recent pause in employment growth, attributable to weakness in part-time work, follows strong increases in full-time employment over the previous five months. Labour productivity, hourly compensation and unit labour cost, 2003 and fourth quarter 2003 Despite improved production in the fourth quarter, Canada's business productivity posted an annual growth rate of a mere 0.1% in 2003, the smallest annual increase in nearly a decade.
