The company will also reinforce the rear retaining wall with concrete. Awarded on behalf of the Canadian Coast Guard Branch of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, this contract will maintain three jobs and will be completed in February 2005.RECONSTRUCTION OF LORD'S COVE WHARFWallace - A $511,689 competitive contract has been awarded to Cureggio General Construction Ltd., of Wallace, N.S., to renovate parts of Lord's Cove Wharf in Deer Island, Charlotte County, N.S. The company will dismantle the pile work and the electrical system on the existing north wharf. It will use the dismantled material in the construction of a new north end wharf, complete with a concrete deck system, fender piles and ladders. Awarded on behalf of the Small Craft Harbours program of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, this contract will maintain six jobs and will be completed in mid-June.PURE WATERCambridge - A $164,680 competitive contract has been awarded to G.C. Baxter Plumbing & Heating Ltd., of Cambridge, N.S., to supply and install a water purification system at the Atlantic Food & Horticultural Centre located in Kentville, Kings County, N.S. Awarded on behalf of the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, this contract will create two jobs and will be completed in April.REPAIRING TWO WHARVESPictou - A $91,302 competitive contract has been awarded to E. MacMaster Farm & Construction Ltd., of Pictou, N.S., to repair the Malagash wharf in Cumberland County and the Skinner's Cove breakwater in Pictou County, N.S.
