April 15, 2004OTTAWA – Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, and His Excellency John Ralston Saul will officially open the exhibition entitled Culture and Democracy: Lord and Lady Elgin in Canada, 1847-1854, on Friday, April 16, 2004at 5:00 p.m., at the Château Ramezay Museum in Montreal.From April 16 to May 2, the exhibition Culture and Democracy: Lord and Lady Elgin in Canada, 1847-1854, will showcase a number of artifacts and works of art covering a tumultuous period in Canadian history.
