Les Amants De La Scène Makes the Transition a Digital Ticketing System

SAINT-GEORGES-DE-BEAUCE, May 20, 2004 -- Thanks to the support provided by the Government of Canada, the Beauce-based cultural promoter Les Amants de la Scène will be able to put in place a digital ticketing system. The news was announced today by the Honourable Claude Drouin, Member of Parliament (Beauce), on behalf of the Honourable Hélène Chalifour Scherrer, Minister of Canadian Heritage."Making arts and culture more accessible is an ongoing priority for the Government of Canada," Mr. Drouin said. "I would like to congratulate the managers and staff of Les Amants de la Scène for their work, which has enlivened this region's cultural life for several years." "Arts organizations contribute to the vitality and dynamism of our communities and enrich our lives," Minister Chalifour Scherrer added. "That's why the Government of Canada is proud to support this cultural landmark of the Beauce region, to help it better meet its clients' needs and improve how its activities are managed." Funding of $25,000 will help the organization create a streamlined ticketing system that uses direct and on-line purchasing to facilitate sales. The new digital ticketing system will make it easier for the organization to manage its sales and market its many different activities and shows.Established in 1986, Les Amants de la Scène is a major cultural promoter in St-Georges-de-Beauce. Its main goal is to strengthen the region's culture by presenting dance, music, theatre, humour and variety shows. Financial assistance is provided by the Department of Canadian Heritage through the Capacity Building component for arts organizations of its Canadian Arts and Heritage Sustainability Program. The objective of this program is to support modern management and greater financial stability in arts and heritage organizations. It is part of the Tomorrow Starts Today initiative, whose funding was renewed for a fourth year in the amount of $207 million.
