GOVERNMENT OF CANADA ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR CONTAMINATED SITES

CALGARY, May 17, 2004 -- Media representatives are advised that the Honourable David Anderson, Minister of the Environment will announce funding related to the Federal Contaminated Sites Accelerated Action Plan, which includes the former Harvey Barracks site. Date: Tuesday, May 18, 2004 Time: 9:00 a.m. (MDT) Location: Former Harvey Barracks Tsuu T’ina First Nation Alberta Directions: West on Glenmore Trail, south on 37th Street S.W., take the first right turn, follow the road to the bottom of the hill to the parking area. Following the announcement, media are invited to view the remediated site. Representatives from the Department of National Defence and from the Tsuu T’ina First Nation will also be participating in the event.
