June 11, 2004 OTTAWA – On Saturday, June 19, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson, Governor General of Canada, will open the 7th Annual Canadian Peony Society Show, which will be held at Rideau Hall on June 19 and 20. Rideau Hall is pleased, once again, to host the Canadian Peony Society Show, which will be open to the public free of charge on Saturday, June 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hundreds of peonies will be on display for visitors to discover and admire in the enchanting setting of Rideau Hall. In addition to the traditional competition featuring the most beautiful flowers, horticultural experts will be on hand to offer valuable advice on growing many varieties of ranunculus. Visitors can also attend a free lecture series in the Ballroom. Visitors are always welcome to explore the magnificent grounds of Rideau Hall, where the profusion of flowers, shrubs and rock gardens will delight both amateur and experienced gardeners.
