OTTAWA August 30, 2004 The Federal Minister of Labour and Housing, the Honourable Joe Fontana, visits Montreal today, where he will meet with his Quebec counterpart, Honourable Jean-Marc Fournier, Minister of Municipal Affairs, Sports and Recreation. Later in the day, Minister Fontana will announce a significant contribution to four organizations in Montreal to help alleviate homelessness. Minister Fontana, accompanied by Pablo Rodriguez, Member of Parliament for Honoré-Mercier, will make the funding announcement at the Y des femmes de Montréal, 1355 René-Lévesque Blvd., West Holden Fisher Hall. The funds will be provided through the Supporting Communities Partnership Initiative of the National Homelessness Initiative.
