NPAO 71.04 - October 9, 2004 HALIFAX -- The remains of Lieutenant (Navy) Chris Saunders from HMCS CHICOUTIMI will arrive at Halifax International Airport (IMP Shell Aerocentre) on Sunday, October 10 th at 3:30 p.m. (Atlantic Standard Time). -30- Note to News Directors and Assignment Editors: Media planning to attend must contact Navy Public Affairs to register all members who will attend the ceremony at 902-427-6688 prior to noon on Sunday. Security on the flight line is tight and space is very limited. Television media are asked to arrive no later than 2 p.m. Print and radio media should arrive no later than 2:30 p.m. Late arrivals will not be admitted. Journalists will be escorted to designated media areas. They will be required to remain in this location for the duration of the ceremony for security reasons. The Saunders family will not be granting any interviews. Other VVIPs who wish to speak to the media will approach the designated media location, once the hearse and Saunders family members have left the tarmac. Media are not to leave the designated area until interviews are complete and escorting officers move them out of the secure area. Halifax International is approximately 20 kilometers east of Halifax on Highway 102.
