OTTAWA, November 15, 2004 -- "It is with much sadness and regret that I express condolences to the family, friends and co-workers of Glen Evely, an RCMP auxiliary officer who lost his life November 13, 2004 as a result of a tragic accident in Vernon, BC. "This sad event is a reminder of the risks that front-line auxiliary and uniformed officers face each day in their commitment to protecting Canadians. Auxiliary members work shoulder-to-shoulder with regular members and play an invaluable role in keeping our communities and our citizens safe and secure. Auxiliary Constable Evely's sacrifices will not be forgotten.
