For immediate release REGINA, November 4, 2004 -- A $20,950,600 competitive contract has been awarded to PCL Construction Management Inc., of Regina, Saskatchewan, to renovate the former Galleria Building to serve as the Regina Government of Canada Building. This contract will maintain 100 jobs and will be completed by the fall of 2005. The announcement was made today by Ralph Goodale, Minister of Finance and MP for Wascana, on behalf of Scott Brison, Minister of Public Works and Government Services. "When complete, the new Regina Government of Canada Building will consolidate several Government of Canada departments into a single, more accessible point of access for government services," said Minister Goodale. "This will improve the way the citizens of Regina access Government of Canada services." Renovation work will entail extensive upgrading to existing architectural components, electrical and mechanical systems as well as to the building's security and safety installations. Funding for this contract was provided for in the March 2004 Federal Budget.
