RCMP Hosts First National Conference on Marihuana Grow Operations

November 1, 2004 Media are invited to attend the opening of the RCMP’s first National Conference on Marihuana Grow Operations (MGOs). Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada (PSEPC) the Honourable Anne McLellan and RCMP Commissioner Giuliano Zaccardelli will open the two day conference. The media are invited to attend these opening remarks followed by a short media availability with the RCMP Director General of Drugs and Organized Crime, Raf Souccar, and other industry spokespersons. Date: Tuesday November 2, 2004 Time: 9:00-9:45 am Location: Marriott Hotel, Victoria Ballroom, 100 Kent St. Ottawa Note: The media availability session will be held in an adjacent room *(location TBA). 135 participants from across Canada are expected to attend this first-ever National Conference on MGOs. The RCMP is hosting this conference to bring together our many partners and work towards shared solutions to the challenges posed by illicit MGOs. Participants include law enforcement and private sector partners including power providers, insurance, fire, and others impacted by the issue.
