MCLELLAN AND RIDGE TO FURTHER SMART BORDER DISCUSSIONS

For immediate release December 15, 2004 Anne McLellan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, will meet with U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge on December 17 in Detroit, Michigan. This will be Minister McLellan's third face-to-face meeting with Secretary Ridge this year, an opportunity to review the implementation of the Smart Border Declaration and its companion 30-point Action Plan.
