January 4, 2005 Government officials from Foreign Affairs Canada and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will hold a technical briefing on January 5 on the Government of Canada's ongoing coordinated response to the crisis in South and Southeast Asia. Dr. James Young, Commissioner of Emergency Management Ontario, will participate by teleconference from Phuket, Thailand. Officials from the Department of National Defence, Citizenship and Immigration Canada, the Canadian International Development Agency and the Public Health Agency of Canada will also be present to respond to questions.
